On Wednesday, June 17, Ahmad Nasser, member of the Think BRICS team, had the privilege of attending the thematic session “Media and BRICS: Building a Common Information Space,” held at the BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Center. Organized as part of the Anniversary BRICS Week at the All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature, the event brought together leading media professionals, experts, and journalists from across the BRICS nations.
The session focused on the critical role of mass media as a strategic tool for fostering intercultural dialogue and advancing humanitarian initiatives within the BRICS framework. As the partnership celebrates its milestone anniversary, the discussion centered on assessing the past two decades of cooperation and mapping out the future of our shared media landscape.
For us at Think BRICS, this gathering was particularly resonant. As an independent media project dedicated to producing politically and socially relevant content, documentaries, and expert interviews, we are deeply committed to the very goals discussed at the session. The opportunity to exchange experiences with international colleagues and explore the prospects of media cooperation was invaluable. We engaged in vital conversations about how independent media can effectively dismantle monopolized narratives and build a truly multipolar, shared information space that accurately reflects the diverse cultures and values of our countries.
The insights gained from this session will directly inform our upcoming projects, including our new documentary channel focused on BRICS history and integration. We extend our gratitude to the organizers and our partners at the TV BRICS International Media Network for creating such a vital platform for dialogue.
As we continue to amplify the voices of the Global South, Think BRICS remains dedicated to bridging cultures and strengthening the informational ties that unite the BRICS family.
